Fat Transfer

Procedure:
As we age, facial fat is lost, especially around the mouth area. Also, the underlying collagen and elastic fibers begin to break down, causing wrinkles and creases to develop.

We now have a natural approach to restoring youthfulness to the face. This procedure is called "Fat Transfer", or fat grafting.

Excess fat is removed from the patient by means of liposuction. Once the fat is removed, it is processed to remove the excess fluids, and then the fat is re-injected into the wrinkle lines, filling the area.

Fat transfer is especially effective in treating the nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the mouth) marionette lines (lines from the mouth to the chin), and the lips. Autologous fat transfer may also be used to provide definition to your cheeks and chin.

Since fat transfer uses your own fat cells, you can never have an allergic reaction, because it is from your own body. Patients are up and around very quickly following this procedure. Any discomfort following the procedure can be controlled with medication. Some swelling at the treatment site may last for several days. There may be some bruising.
