Fraxel Repair Laser Resurfacing
Fraxel Repair Laser Resurfacing:
The solution is here for skin that has been damaged by the sun, pollution, stress, and
fatigue. Now patients can have the skin they desire without the discomfort, prolonged
recovery time, and risk associated with the older, traditional CO2 laser. The latest and
greatest laser technology is the Fraxel Repair Laser. It is a fractionated ablative CO2
laser that delivers thousands of microscopic pinpoint laser beams beneath the skin’s
surface. The laser beams destroy the old damaged skin cells, and as the skin heals, the
old cells are replaced by healthy fresh skin. Because of the precise nature of the Fraxel
Repair, it can be tailored to treat each individual according to her skin condition, the
severity of the problem, and the patient’s skin color. This laser, unlike any other CO2
laser, can treat delicate area such as the neck, chest, forearms, and hands.
The Fraxel Repair can be calibrated to treat 5% to 50% of the skin’s surface, leaving
the other 50% to 95% untreated skin available to quickly heal the lasered tissue thus
providing a much quicker recovery.
Following the first few weeks of recovery, the skin will appear smoother, softer, and
brighter, but the full effect of the laser will take an additional 3 to 6 months because the
body will continue to create more collagen.
